Fascia Board

The fascia board is a horizontal finishing component installed along the edge of a roof, directly attached to the ends of rafters or trusses. It acts as a protective and aesthetic trim element in roofing systems.

One of its primary functions is to support the gutter system. Gutters are typically mounted directly onto the fascia board, allowing rainwater to be efficiently collected and directed away from the building.

Fascia boards also protect exposed rafter ends from weather damage, moisture infiltration, and pest intrusion. Without fascia protection, these structural components would be vulnerable to rot and deterioration.

In addition to its functional role, fascia contributes to the visual appearance of the roofline, creating a clean and finished edge.

Fascia boards are commonly made from wood, vinyl, aluminum, or composite materials. Proper installation and maintenance are essential, as damage or decay can compromise both the gutter system and roof edge integrity.
