Cedar Roof Ridge Vent

A cedar roof ridge vent is a ventilation component installed along the highest point of the roof ridge to allow warm, humid air to escape from the attic space.

Ridge vents work together with soffit vents to create balanced airflow throughout the roofing system. As warm air rises naturally, it exits through the ridge vent while cooler outside air enters near the roof eaves.

This continuous airflow helps reduce moisture buildup, regulate attic temperature, and prevent condensation-related damage to cedar roofing components.

Ridge ventilation also helps minimize thermal stress on cedar shakes and improves overall roof performance during seasonal temperature changes.

Proper installation is essential to ensure weather resistance while maintaining consistent airflow across the ridge line.
